UV-SAFETY: Sleeves BACK TO PRODUCT SELECTION UV-Safety Sleeve UV-STOP Sleeve Invisible ultra-violet rays from daylight or from fluorescent lighting have a very harmful long term effect on all items exposed to such radiation. The EncapSulite UV-Safety Sleeve for fluorescent tubes consists of a clear polycarbonate sleeve, the specially coated "cut away ultra-violet" filter and end caps. In the event of breakage, the EncapSulite UV-Safety Sleeve will also contain the glass fragments, thereby protecting both personnel and expensive equipment. There is a choice of three different types depending on safety needed: UV Safety Sleeve / Type G10 - gold cut off point at 520 nanometres - designed for locations such as clean rooms, plate making and areas where films or materials are sensitive to ultra-violet radiation, circuit board and semi-conductor manufacturing plants. UV Safety Sleeve / Type LY5 - light yellow cut off point at 470 nanometres - designed for higher UV-sensitive materials and locations but giving utmost brightness. UV Safety Sleeve / Type C20 - clear (see also UV400) cut off point at 400 nanometres - designed for use in museums, archives, galleries and any other places where constant exposure to unprotected fluorescent lighting will damage items on display.
