EncapSulite® were the first to offer a polycarbonate cover for fluorescent tubes back in the 1960's at the request of the Food Industry. Brand leaders wanted a simple, yet effective, sleeve to protect food products from fragments of glass, should a fluorescent lamp shatter.
The clear and tough polycarbonate sleeve can withstand the high and low temperatures often associated with the food industry (-90°C up to 125°C). It is self extinguishing and flame resistant below 500°C, is non toxic, will not conduct surface infestation and will not affect the flavour of the most sensitive foods. It is resistant to mineral acids, most in-organic acids, fats and oils, but is susceptible to ammonia gas, its solutions and amines.
When used in REFRIGERATED CABINETS the sleeve will tend to insulate the lamp from the intense cold, thereby allowing the lamp to reach a more normal working temperature and brightness.

Quickly and easily installed. Simply remove end cap from the sleeve, slide your white fluorescent lamp inside and replace the end cap.

Original-Version: "clip-on" end-caps (clear) with aluminium spring clips
Economy-Version: "push-on" end-caps (clear)
Failed lamps used in switch start fittings, should be replaced as soon as possible, as they can reach temperatures in excess of 250° C and this will have a detrimental effect on the polycarbonate sleeve. Pulse starters will alleviate this occurrence.
Not recommended for use in air/water tight fittings utilising switch start ballasts.
